About - Andrew Lawton

Andrew Lawton is the Member of Parliament for Elgin—St. Thomas—London South. Before being elected in 2025, Andrew was a broadcaster, journalist, author, and the managing editor of True North, before which he hosted a daily talk radio show on 980 CFPL in London. He has written for Global News, the Washington Post, and the National Post.

Andrew is a suicide survivor and passionate mental health advocate who volunteers on the board of Suicide Prevention Middlesex-London.

As a journalist, Andrew has written two bestselling non-fiction books, including “Pierre Poilievre: A Political Life,” a biography of Canada’s next prime minister. Alongside True North, Andrew successfully sued the Trudeau government in a press freedom case, Lawton v Canada.

Andrew is a member of the East Elgin Sportsmen’s Association and a champion of rural and smaller communities often ignored by the government and media.

He has a degree in political science and history from the University of Western Ontario and worked as a journalism instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University.
